Oettinger Davidoff and Heinemann to open new Frankfurt walk-in humidor
Swiss cigar supplier Oettinger Davidoff AG is to open a new 15sq m walk-in humidor in the Heinemann Duty Free Z-main duty-free shop at Frankfurt International Airport in December .
The 15 [square-meter] walk-in humidor will be modelled on the standard international design for “Davidoff of Geneva — since 1911”. The exclusive interior design of the walk-in humidor, with its fine timbers and natural materials in earthy tones, are reminiscent of the colour of the cigars, according to the company, which has been in partnership with Gebr Heinemann for 40 years.
In addition to a huge selection from the entire range of Davidoff products, aficionados will find cigars from well-known brands Camacho, Griffin’s and Zino. The new walk-in humidor will protect the quality of the cigars while ensuring they are stored under the optimal humidity conditions. Customers will also be able to purchase Cuban specialities and exotic products. In addition, Davidoff Cigars has created an exclusive Heinemann Travel Retail Limited Cigar Edition that will be available to purchase in the new humidor. Visitors which do not own their own humidor will have an opportunity to win one following the opening.
Oettinger Davidoff CEO Hans-Kristian Hoejsgaard said: “We are proud to be planning the first “Davidoff of Geneva — since 1911” walk-in humidor at Frankfurt airport. This has been made possible thanks to our many years of successful collaboration with Gebr Heinemann. Here in the Heinemann Duty Free Shop Z-Main, cigar enthusiasts can discover the outstanding quality of the full Oettinger Davidoff AG product range and in doing so, can utilise the first-class service.”
Gebr Heinemann executive director of purchasing and logistics at Gebr Heinemann and cigar aficionado Kay Spanger added: “The global concept of “Davidoff of Geneva — since 1911” is perfectly suited to us, as it represents quality, exclusivity and a unique shopping experience. We are delighted to have Oettinger Davidoff AG, an experienced partner, at our side. Passengers will be enthralled by the products on offer. This year’s Christmas presents are already wrapped up for cigar connoisseurs.”
