"Ocho Cinco" Launches His New Cigar Brand

Today, Chad "Ocho Cinco" Johnson, the 6-time NFL Pro Bowl wide receiver, announced the exclusive pre-sale launch of his brand new cigar brand Eighty5.

Eighty5 Cigars is the official premium cigar line created and curated by Johnson, in partnership with Guy & Lady Barrel (GLB) Cigars. Images of Johnson enjoying cigars is nothing new to social media, so the establishment of his own cigar brand is not surprising. Not only did he travel to the Dominican Republic to source the tobacco and help develop the blend, he also partnered with Maurice and Grace WIlliams, co-founders of GLB Cigars to develop the branding, including the gold cigar wrappers and matte black packaging. He also partnered with native Cuban Jesus Castañon, lead development for GLB Cigars who was trained and employed by Cohiba, to roll the blend.

Manufactured in the Dominican Republic, the inaugural line for Eighty5 Cigars is Boa Vida (translated as "good life") which will be available in a single 6" x 50 Toro vitola, composed of filler tobacco from Nicaragua and Brazil, and binder from 10-year aged Indonesian tobacco. The origin of the wrapper is undisclosed at this time.

From March 15 through March 31, Eighty5Cigars is accepting pre-sale orders online only - each order is hand-rolled to order by Jesus Castañon in the Dominican Republic and will take approximately 6-8 weeks to ship after the end of the pre-sale period. Introductory prices are as follows:

Single cigar - $16.99

3-pack - $50.99

5-pack - $84.99

10-pack - $169.99

20-count box - 339.99

The first 500 cigar boxes will be numbered, and will be accompanied with a letter of authenticity signed by both Castañon and Johnson.
