Romeo San Andrés is made in Nicaragua, and is the first Romeo to feature a Mexican San Andrés wrapper. This release is a collaborative effort between AJ Fernandez and Rafael Nodal, Altadis' new head of product capability, who developed the concept for the cigar. Nodal told Cigar Aficionado magazine that he and Fernandez were blending some of Fernandez’s aged tobaccos with no particular project in mind, other than "developing a blend with complex flavors, aroma, and exceptional balance." They ended up creating this particular blend that consists of Nicaraguan and Dominican fillers.
