Vegas' Forum Shops at Caesars Set For Its 2nd Cigar Lounge
January 28, 2016
According to the Las Vegas Eater website, the former Hyakumi Japanese Restaurant & Sushi Bar at Caesar's Palace (which has been vacant since 2013) will be replaced by a $2 million cigar lounge. Currently, the space is closed off with plywood, but has been confirmed to undergo a tranformation into an approximately 3,800-square-foot cigar lounge, bar, humidor, and retail shop. It was previously rumored that Casa Fuente, which is currently located in the Forum Shops at Caesar's and coming up on its 1th anniversary in April 2016, may be the space's next tenant. There is some truth to that - Cigar Aficionado Magazine has confirmed yesterday, January 27th, that a Montecristo Cigar Bar is under construction at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas with a targeted opening set for March 2016.
Michael Frey, who actually owns Casa Fuente, is behind the project Located across the hallway from the Cleopatra's Barge lounge and bar, it would mark Casa Fuente's second venture within the building. The bar will focus on premium bourbon, scotch, and cocktails, and will also feature slot machines and video poker. The retail store will carry Montecristo and other premium cigars.
Upon the debut of the 12,775-square-foot Nobu Restaurant & Lounge in 2013, which has space to accomodate 327 guests, Hyakumi closed its doors. Apparently, the new Montecristo Cigar Bar is being designed by the Rockwell Group, which also designed Nobu.
