CAO Embarks on the Pan Am Tour

CAO fans are invited to join Master Blender Rick Rodriguez on a virtual tour of the Pan American highway spanning April – December 2018.

Rick’s online journey will start off in North America before moving to Mexico on the banks of the Rio Grande at Nuevo Laredo. This is where the Pan Am highway becomes known in Spanish as the Autopista and begins its connection to a world of countries to the South. He’ll make his way virtually through the jungles, mountains and deserts of Central America, ultimately taking a spur of the highway to end in the sub-tropical South American paradise of Brazil.

Along the way, Rick will trace the origins of CAO’s famed tobaccos, give exclusive details on new CAO blends to come down the pike and engage fans with a video game and sweepstakes launching on April 2. Exclusive Pan Am Tour prizes will be awarded via the website at the end of May, July and September, and on the brand’s Facebook and Twitter channels, @caocigars.

Rick said, “With CAO, our blends encompass so many countries and growing regions, it’s sometimes hard for people to keep track of what they’re smoking. The Pan Am tour gives me the chance to share my insights into the tobaccos we select for CAO cigars, and connect our fans with the lengths we go to develop our blends.”

In true CAO fashion, Rick’s virtual journey has an in-store component. His Pan American Tour will be mirrored by an interstate highway tour of sorts, as Rick will be visiting cigar shops across the U.S. for a deeper dive on the tobaccos that make up CAO’s unique blends. Events will take place between April and December, 2018 and at each event, cigar lovers can win CAO branded items like lighters, tee shirts and duffle bags, and have the opportunity to smoke special Pan Am Tour-exclusive cigars blended by Rick and the CAO team.
